Who We Are
Located just 20 minutes from Spokane International Airport, in Cheney Washington, Serene Prairie K9 is nestled on our private piece of the beautiful Pacific Northwest. We operate a licensed, inspected, and AKC-approved facility, and are proud to be one of the only breeders in Spokane County licensed to breed, board, and train dogs.
We take great pride in our responsible, ethical breeding program, and every puppy is raised and socialized in our home - not a kennel - so they are well-prepared for life as beloved family companions.
Our Story
Kieshia grew up showing and breeding Shelties and Collies with her family, while Roby was raised around Shar-Peis and English Bulldogs. Together, we became active in AKC hunt tests and conformation shows with a wide variety of breeds, including Labs, Shelties, Collies, Dobermans, and German Shepherds. At that time, our family kennel operated under the name ShowTime K9 and Showtime Dobermans.
In 2014, we fell in love with Mastiffs and shifted our focus, retiring from Shelties and Collies. A year later, we moved to our current location and rebranded as Serene Prairie K9. In 2016 we welcomed Paco, the French Bulldog who marked the beginning of our journey into Frenchie's - chosen for his exceptional pedigree and quality.
A New Chapter
In 2022, we were married. Just a month later, Roby was involved in a serious car accident, which led to our decision to retire from breeding Mastiffs in the spring of 2023. We are proud to have finished that chapter with eight AKC Champions.
To celebrate our anniversary, Kieshia surprised Roby with two Bulldog puppies - ushering in a new and exciting chapter in our canine journey.
At Serene Prairie K9, dogs are more than just our passion, they're our family. We love all breeds, but some have captured our hearts a little more than others.
